A reliable longline can turn training sessions from stressful to smooth. The BioThane Dog Longline is built to give your pup freedom to explore while keeping you in control. Whether you're practising recall, working with a young pup, or managing an energetic dog, this lead gives you extra reach without the tangles or soggy mess of standard lines. Unlike rope or fabric, BioThane doesn't soak up dirt, water, or odours, so it's always ready for the next walk — making it a great option alongside our custom dog collars, even after a muddy run through the park or a splash at the beach. Tough, colourful, and easy to customise, it's a training tool that works as hard as you and your dog do.
Most leads get heavy, smelly, and frayed over time. BioThane longlines avoid all that. They're strong enough for big dogs, but light enough for small ones, and the waterproof coating means no damp rope smell in the car after training. Because they don't snag or soak, they're safer for recall practice, letting your dog run free while you know you can reel them back if needed. The custom options also mean you get a line that works for your dog's needs, not just a one-size-fits-all.
Clip the longline to your dog's harness (we recommend avoiding collar use for training). Let your pup roam while you keep hold of the other end, or allow the line to drag if you're working in a safe, open space. For added control, attach a removable traffic handle to the D-ring at the end; easy to grab when you need it, easy to take off when you don't.
Love the BioThane longlines we purchased. Next time would probs get wider for the bigger dog but brilliant regardless. Have used them everyday since we got them.
Love this long line and the colour is perfect. The original colour I wanted was out of stock for the 6m so Aimee recommended a few other bright colours and the orange is so vibrant! Thank you so so much, this is exactly what we needed for training our pup through the bush.
Fantastic, Used everyday In all terrain, Brass hardware, cool colour options.
I originally had one of these leashes but ended up losing it. I don't have a dog but a very adventurous cat! and it's fantastic. Super easy to clean (if it does get dirty), and really light. (I do attach it to the end of his other leash). I would recommend it to people who want a sturdy leash for either your dog or travel kitty <3
Very happy with the long lead. Ordered a 6m lead and I can join it together with my 2m multilead. Nice material. Fast delivery and fast communication.
Great long line for training our young dog. Allows more freedom and helps build trust and recall with the security of being able to take control if we need too. The bright colour is easy to spot on the beach or trail. The biothane composition is great as it doesn’t hold water and is easy to handle even after going through mud or water.
5m line with handle (also used for multi-function lead). Great for the beach as just wipes clean and doesn’t get soggy and cold. Coils up easily enough for close walking when needed. One rope burn with the nylon line was enough! This is super comfortable to hold.
The Violet and Amethyst are gorgeous together.
The team were super helpful when I wanted some slight adjustments made, and did a great job ❤️ Will definitely be ordering again!
I absolutely love these leads! I originally brought a 5m long line for our pup to have more freedom but still have some control while he is learning recall. The material is sturdy but still somewhat lightweight, super easy to clean and the orange is very visible. I loved it so much that I brought a 3m line for ‘sniff’ walks around the neighbourhood. Love the colour choices, line thickness and variety of clip sizes, highly recommend!
Thanks so much for your lovely feedback and the photos! We are glad you love them as much as we do - once I went BioThane I never went back!! Tarah
neat colour's super fast delivery

No wet, soggy long line anymore. Easy to dry off with an old rag. Absolutely love the choices of colour you get. Also the staff is fantastic to deal with. Keep up the good work guys.

Great customer service in helping me pick available colours for this long line. It seems to work well, but if I were to buy again, I would get a 10m and a 5m with D rings instead of a 15m. I think that would have given me more options.
Great quality lead, perfect for puppy training. Shipping was very fast, too.
WOW...love both products.
I am in training with my dog and the long line is perfect for recalls. It is a work in progress but we are getting there. Love the colour's, durability and length.
The collars are a game changer. My dog has a sensitive coat. Other collars irritated his skin, the biothane is perfect. I also brought another one for my nephews dog lolz.
5 star communication, service and products.
I think I will order the deer antlers 🫰
Love love love the long and red lead.
I am in training with my fur baby. The lead is great for recalls.
Its a work in progress and I'm see results with the help of the lead.
Thank you❤️
Excellent products. Purchased two long biothane leads done to specs. They arrived super quickly. Second time purchasing from Shine pets and would use them again.
Great service, made and sent quickly - happy with product!
Purchased for my 16 month old Silky Terrier, 15m long line gives him the freedom to zoom about and have fun with out the stress of me thinking he will run off after prey as he is a little hunter at heart. Best of all water doesn't soak into the line so easy to wipe dry for his next adventure. Feels good to handle and seems nice and strong.
Thanks Shine Pets.
I love this lead, it's so lightweight, easy to clean, and doesn't get snagged when my dog runs around trees!
Fantastic product
Great product - works really well, wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing attaching the ring at the end but used it over the weekend and it worked really well. Loved the color I selected, matched the harness ex Shine pets and collar I had on my dog perfectly.

Great lead
BioThane Dog Longline/Dragline/Scentline
Works great, brilliant that it is waterproof and very light weight...
Recommendation: It would be nice if there was an option to finish the end which you hold with a slightly larger 20mm length of rubber or something tactile (but not a loop handle). This would help you feel the end of the line as it is running through your hands during scent/nose work training.
Hi Matt. We would be happy to add that on for you if you request it 😊 We always try to accommodate the various custom requests that we receive. Tarah 😃
