Head Halters are a useful training tool to stop dogs pulling!
The halter minimizes forward motion, such as pulling, and gives directional control. They are devices that fit over a dog’s nose and neck. The halters are not to be mistaken for a muzzle, but they are a walking device that gives more control than a collar or harness. The basic premise of a halter is: Where the head goes, the body will follow.
I recommend that these should be used as part of a training plan and used alongside positive reinforcement by rewarding the dog with treats when it is walking beside you, ideally with the aim to teach your dog loose lead walking and not need to always use the head halter.
